Every piece is made with the movement of music flowing through me. A mix of genres, emotions, and vibes. You are welcome to experience some of that if you'd like. I have shared a custom playlist and a survey of some of the music used in these acts of creation.

Thembi, means “Hope” and originates from South Africa, sharing the same name as the Pharaoh Sanders album. It is calling hope, into creation.

The connective tissue of all creation, is in union, and reunions. No act of creation is independent; even seemingly solo acts, are reliant on something else— a solo saxophone player, builds of the sound before them, relies on the maker of the saxophone, and reeds, and more. Unions in all creation.

Inspired by flowing jazz, during a stretch of relationships that were all "maybes."

Inspired by the sound of southern Rap, such as UGK, smooth, with some funk.

The original piece was ruined when finishing, unable to fix it. But something new was created from it— while listing to late 70s and early 80s R&B, disco, and funk

Ethereal in our existence, space as our home, we are blessed to have the ability to mend ourselves; to live, we must accept this blessing from the eternal.

Growth often comes from tiny moments

From the memories, of cool nights on the mountain side of St.Thomas, with the ocean breeze, and motherly moon.

Part of my ongoing "Dilla" series, dedicated to the late Hip-Hop producer, J-Dilla. Where he fuses Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, R&B, and more. This was fused through the sounds of J.Dilla, and the singer Sade; light, seductive, and funky.

A mental journey through the jungle, only to come across a subtly human shaped celestial, made from the trees and wood, to be a reflection of our own existence.

A dedication to the God(s) of morning, light, and life. Bursting life into existence.

Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces. This piece is the pull of the seedling, the root, the anchor to this earth, from which we grow; how will you choose to grow? As a vine, strangling life for your own, or in root and network with others, sharing the plentiful light.

Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces.
This piece was created under Andre 3000's, "New Blue Sun" ethereal flute album. Within this piece are psychedelic shifts and long intonations/experiences, where time seems to be drawn out, flexed, and warped.

40x40, acrylic on wood.
Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces. This piece is the pull of the light, of the best of ourselves, of the universe, and God within us. We can carry it, and leave a trail of it behind us for others to follow, as long as your lead by light and love.

40x40, acrylic, mixed medium, on canvas.
Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces. This one, The Seal, protects the nature and secrets of the universe and existence, can you unlock it?

Will you see the tunnel of the unknown and embrace its journey?

Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces. Letting go of ego, perceptions, and attachment, we can ascend to the best of humanity

". . . a stone, a leaf, an unfound door; a stone, a leaf, a door. And of all the forgotten faces.
Naked and alone we came into exile. In her dark womb we did not know our mother's face; from the prison of her flesh have we come into the unspeakable and incommunicable prison of this earth.
Which of us has known his brother? Which of us has looked into his father's heart? Which of us has not remained forever prison-pent? Which of us is not forever a stranger and alone?
O waste of lost, in the hot mazes, lost, among bright stars on this weary, unbright cinder, lost! Remembering speechlessly we seek the great forgotten language, the lost lane-end into heaven, a stone, a leaf, an unfound door. Where? When?
O lost, and by the wind grieved, ghost, come back again."- Thomas Wolfe, Look Homeward, Angel

2023

Part of "A New Blue Sun Produced" series, totaling 8 pieces.
This piece is one part of a larger series of paintings created to Andre 3000s, New Blue Sun, an ethereal flute album through the fall of 2023. A time where the tides of fascism rose and genocide exploded in Palestine (and many other places across the globe), a blood moon, a blood hand, our home, and our land…where are we going?

This piece was created in the summer of 2023 after I moved apartments; the building I moved from was peculiar, it just felt weird. This piece came after that, settling into my new place, with Funk and Soul from the 60s-80s pulsating through the air. In effect, one might call it a self-portrait; within it, you might be able to see both ominous and hopeful feelings and perceptions, a grounded weight yet flight.

The creation of this piece occurred while listening to nothing but Dvořák. "Off the Pack" is a head nod to the use of cannabis. The design that came through is one of a flowing, almost gaseous-like substance that appears as if its Jupiter or a Gas giant— this is indicative of the psycho-emotional state I was in in creating this; there is a weight, intensity, and depth to it, like much of Dvořák’s work. But even within all of that is the power of creation, almost a Yoni, as one observer made.
